Dr. Nicole Gilbertson

Nicole Gilbertson is the Site Director of the UCI History Project, an organization that provides professional development to support teachers in disciplinary understanding and academic literacy. She is also Co-Director of the UCI Teacher Academy. Her educational path as a historian and teacher has allowed her to work with teachers across California to improve students’ literacy and critical thinking skills through history-social science. Nicole is the author of academic articles on history education and a history curriculum that combines current research, historical thinking, and academic literacy.
